Master’s Degree Plan II (Exam/Project)
The M.S. degree, Plan II (Exam/Project) requires completion of a minimum of 30 semester units in approved courses, at least 24 of which must be earned in 200 series graduate-level courses exclusive of credit given for research and preparation. Limited to no research effort is required for this plan. In addition, successful passing of a final exam/project is also required.
For master’s students under Plan II, each program decides the content and format of the final exam/project, which should cover the knowledge and skills reasonably expected of a master’s degree recipient in the field. A faculty committee should conduct the exam and/or direct the final project.
