New students, you will complete any hiring paperwork during Graduate Orientation Week (GROW). You should have the following information readily available:
- Current address if you already have found a local place to live in Merced;
- Bank account information for direct deposit (i.e. blank voided check or deposit slip)
- Employment eligibility verification documents . We require ORIGINAL documentation for the I-9 form (authorization to work in the United States).
Note: You are not able to work until you have completed all of your hiring documents. Any delay in completing your hiring documents will result in a delay in processing your paycheck. Also note that funding amounts as stated on your Summary of Financial Support and/or your TA/GSR appointment letter is based on you arriving and completing all necessary hiring documents before the first day of pay status.
