UC Merced is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. Providing safety training is a major component of this goal.
The Office of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) offers training to UC Merced faculty and staff members and students on a variety of safety topics.
It is the responsibility of all supervisors, managers and principal investigators to identify job-specific hazards, to provide job-specific safety training and to require employees under their authority to participate in mandatory EH&S lead training.
How to Register for Safety Training Courses:
Before Graduate Student Orientation Week, incoming students are required to complete the Lab Safety Fundamentals w/o HazMat ecourse (online).
Required Course: Lab Safety Fundamentals w/o HazMat

- To Register for the Lab Safety Fundamentals Online (does not include hazmat) and other trainings, click here: http://ehs.ucmerced.edu/form/register-trainings
- Once you have completed the training, please send a copy of the completed transcript/certificate to email@example.com and put Laboratory Safety Training in the subject header

Note: Depending on the type of lab you are in or the courses you may be assigned to teach, please consult with your faculty advisor, TA course instructor and/or lab manager for additional required trainings.
